Happy holidays, everyone! As you enjoy the festive season, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the highlights from this past year here at Dr. Kara Fitzgerald. One of the biggest was certainly our virtual Functional Medicine is Longevity Medicine™ Masterclass.
I can still feel the energy from the thousands of you who joined us live, as well as the insightful, inspiring, and deeply moving conversations we shared with luminaries in our field, including Sara Szal, Mark Hyman, Jeff Bland, Terry Wahls, and many others. The range of topics was exhilarating: from the use of AI in functional medicine and public health policy to cutting-edge interventions and practical, foundational therapies clinicians can use right now to extend healthspan. If you couldn’t attend live, the full replay is available through my Younger You™ Practitioner Training.
We also published a digital report this year on the use of AI in functional and longevity medicine based on a survey of our practitioner community. In it, we explore what clinicians are trying, what’s working, where barriers remain, and practical strategies for integrating these tools safely and effectively. You can preview the findings on the blog here.
Beyond these exciting milestones, we explored a broad array of cutting-edge topics on both the podcast and blog, including breakthrough biomarkers for early Alzheimer’s detection, new research on cartilage regeneration (yes, it’s possible!), a groundbreaking residential program for treatment-resistant depression, the powerful interplay between chronic disease, aging, and nervous system regulation, the future of epigenetic clocks and how we measure aging, and much more.
We also shared new peer-reviewed research on the Younger You™ program showing that our longevity protocol increases phytonutrient-dense food intake more than other dietary approaches, including the Mediterranean diet. These phytonutrients may be exactly what delivers the greatest positive impact on biological age and the hallmarks of aging.
I hope you enjoy revisiting this year’s content with us, including our popular epigenetically-targeted recipes, and catching up on anything you may have missed. As always, I’m grateful to have you in this community and welcome your thoughts, feedback, and ongoing dialogue. I look forward to all that 2026 will bring for us.
