Nicotinamide riboside/NAD+

Notes from DrKF:

This form of niacin is readily converted into the form of niacin our body uses for energy synthesis in the mitochondria (NAD+). It’s got a very nice body of research on it in animals and some in humans showing it to be potently neuroprotective and cardioprotective; it also repairs DNA and supports healthy metabolism and antiaging via a variety of mechanisms. A supplement company-funded research study suggests it might favorably influence epigenetic age when combined with an important methylation adaptogen and antiaging polyphenol called pterostilbene (resveratrol’s sibling, and a methylation adaptogen, it’s found in blueberries and some other berries, and almonds).

Dosage: 150–600 mg per day.
