  1. In a small saucepan, bring pre-made broth to a boil. See our sweet broth recipe in description above.
  2. Add gluten-free whole grain oats, salt, and apples, then reduce heat to medium-low so that it simmers, and cook for 10–11 minutes until liquid is absorbed and apples are tender. Then, let stand for about 2 minutes to thicken.
  3. Divide into serving bowls and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg (if using) or other spices of your choice. Sprinkle on optional toppings, as desired.

Notes & Variations

  • If adding frozen berries, add them during the last 3 minutes of simmering.
  • To make this recipe compatible with a low-FODMAP dietary plan, skip the honey, swap strawberries or raspberries for apples, and add after cooking.
