Cell Phones: Use them, but from a distance.

In 2011, WHO categorized cell phone radiation as a possible carcinogen—with good reason.

If you’re not using a head set or speaker setting with your phone, it’s time to switch. Seriously. And don’t carry your phone in your pocket- or ladies, as I’ve seen done- in your bra!

It’s been demonstrated that radio frequency (RF) produced by cell phones upregulates production of heat shock proteins, those chaperone proteins that work hard to keep DNA intact when it’s under assault. HSPs are routinely used in research to identify oxidative damage, damage to DNA, aging, illness and on.

HSPs are trying to protect, but when higher, they indicate the body is under assault.

Thus, RF emitted by cell phones considered an assault on the body and HSPs are produced in response.

Note that this occurs without there being any temperature change— so this idea that cell phones are initiating cellular damage by heating the tissue, like a microwave does, has actually been shown as not essential. The upregulation of HSPs occur without heat.

The legal team at Apple has known this for some time. Have you ever read the disclaimer on your iPhone? It’s buried pretty deeply. Find it here: Settings>General>About>Legal>RF Exposure. Four paragraphs down, Apple suggests using the speaker phone or a headset. They also suggest carrying the iPhone at least 5mm away from your body to ensure your RF exposure is at an acceptable level…
