So here’s a topic I’ve wanted to dive into: the idea that it’s the ratio of D:A (D must be greater than A) for effective influenza tx/prophylaxis (and SARS in this hypothesis)… Vitamin A is essential, but if we dose up patients with A and they are D deficient, we might be harming. In fact, I read about this idea when last writing on the flu in 2018 and decided to hold on vitamin A recommendations because everyone (including me) is deficient in D this time of year.
