Supporting Lung Health Through the Microbiome: A Practitioner's Guide to the Gut-Lung Axis
The gut and lungs may seem like separate systems, but emerging research shows they are in constant communication through immune pathways, microbial metabolites, and inflammatory signals, a connection known as the Gut–Lung Axis.
In this webinar, Dr. Kara Fitzgerald was joined by Dr. Vivek Lal, founder of resbiotic, to explore how disruptions in the gut microbiome can increase inflammation and contribute to respiratory challenges – and what practitioners can do to restore balance.
Together, they dove into:
- The molecular mechanisms behind gut-lung crosstalk
- Latest research on pro-inflammatory metabolites, leaky gut and respiratory health
- Key factors that drive dysfunction in the gut-lung axis
- Evidence-based strategies for optimal lung health & longevity
