HMB is recommended as an anti-aging compound good for building muscle and brain function. HMB is one of our favorite supplements at the clinic: we have had success using it in people with poor muscle mass—including in cancer patients with tough-to-treat cachexia, children who are underweight, or folks just looking for more energy and muscle. I personally like HMB for biking or weight lifting; it appears to increase my endurance and strength.
Dosage: 3,000 mg per day; if using for performance, best benefits might be seen with 1,500 mg before and 1,500 mg after exercise.
