From DrKF – What’s especially interesting in this case is the less common symptom of oral ulcerations, responded well to frequent saline/iodine gargles. We are seeing several cases like this demonstrating a rapid resolution of symptoms and no complications in healthy individuals.
Case clinician: Romilly Hodges CNS
Presentation: 45 y/o F in good general health. Onset of symptoms four days after known exposure to Sars CoV-2. Sore throat and oral mucosa (visible, painful ulcers), fatigue, stomach pains.
Baseline nutritional status: Good baseline diet already initiated with this client pre-symptoms – anti-inflammatory, high potassium, anti-viral and immune-boosting foods (e.g., garlic, ginger, citrus w peel, rosemary, mushrooms), supplemental A, Zn, D, C, quercetin, astragalus.
Intervention (daily additions/dose adjustments), started immediately at onset of symptoms: Note that access to supplements was limited, so focus was on what was available with some degree of rationing
– Hourly oral gargle, swish and spit with saline solution + iodine
– Quercetin 500 mg
– NAC 900 mg
– Zinc 30 mg
– Astragalus root powder 1 g
– Green tea powder, 2 capsules
– Vitamin D 10,000 IU
– Probiotics
– Melatonin 6 mg at night
– SPM Active 2 caps
– Focus on rest
– no work, adequate sleep
Outcome: Symptoms started to decline after 24 hours. Stomach pain and fatigue resolved within 48 hours. Oral ulcers resolved completely by day 5. Client returned to baseline nutrition plan on day 8.
