For decades, Alzheimer's research has focused prim For decades, Alzheimer's research has focused primarily on amyloid plaques.

But what if, in some cases, amyloid is part of the body's response, not the root problem itself?

In this fascinating conversation, @drrichardhorowitz explores emerging research on the relationship between chronic infections, neuroinflammation, and cognitive decline. He discusses a published case in which treatment targeting chronic Lyme disease was associated with improvements in cognition, amyloid biomarkers, and a substantial reduction in pTau-217.

Importantly, this doesn't mean Alzheimer's disease is caused by Lyme disease.

What it does suggest is that we may need to ask bigger questions.

Could chronic infections, immune dysregulation, environmental exposures, mitochondrial dysfunction, or other inflammatory triggers be contributing to neurodegeneration in some individuals?

If we focus only on symptoms or downstream biomarkers, we may miss opportunities to identify and address the upstream drivers of disease.

This is the systems biology lens: looking beyond a diagnosis to understand what may be fueling dysfunction in the first place.
The future of brain health may depend on asking better questions.

For years, chronic illness has often been approach For years, chronic illness has often been approached as though there must be a single root cause. But what if we're asking the wrong question?

What if many chronic conditions are better understood as a web of interacting factors - environmental exposures, infections, immune dysfunction, gut health imbalances, trauma, mitochondrial dysfunction, and yes, in some cases, mold toxins?

According to Dr. Horowitz, mold and mycotoxins may do more than cause symptoms on their own. They can suppress immune function, amplify inflammation, contribute to brain fog and fatigue, reactivate latent infections, and interfere with treatment response.

This doesn't mean mold is the answer for everyone. It does suggest that when symptoms are persistent and complex, we may need a broader lens.

The future of medicine isn't about looking for one thing.

It's about understanding how multiple systems interact—and where the biggest opportunities for healing may exist.

Creatine is one of the most researched supplements Creatine is one of the most researched supplements in the world.
And still one of the most misunderstood.

For years, concerns about kidney damage, hair loss, bloating, dehydration, and “unsafe long-term use” have overshadowed what the science actually says.

So let’s clear a few things up.
The evidence does not support the idea that creatine harms healthy kidneys.
The hair loss concern comes from one small study — without evidence of actual hair loss.
And while some people experience temporary bloating or water retention, many side effects can be minimized with proper dosing and hydration.

But perhaps the most exciting part?
Creatine is now being studied for far more than muscle performance.

Emerging research is exploring its role in:
🧠 Brain health + cognition
💪 Healthy aging + muscle preservation
⚡ Cellular energy + mitochondrial function
🩸 Metabolic health
🏃 Recovery + physical resilience

The key is understanding who may benefit, how to use it appropriately, and what the evidence actually shows — not what internet myths claim.

Comment CREATINE GUIDE for the full breakdown.

And tell me in the comments: Have you tried creatine?
Your muscles are not just moving you through the w Your muscles are not just moving you through the world.

They are communicating with your brain.

A recent UK Biobank analysis following more than 51,000 adults found that higher handgrip strength was independently associated with lower dementia risk. Those in the highest grip-strength group had about a 50% lower risk compared with those in the lowest group.

This is observational data, so we are not saying grip strength alone prevents dementia.

But we are seeing, again and again, that muscle is a powerful biomarker of resilience.

Muscle tracks with metabolic health.
Insulin sensitivity.
Inflammatory tone.
Mitochondrial capacity.
Vascular function.
Functional reserve.
And, increasingly, brain health.

This is why resistance training belongs in the longevity conversation.

Not as vanity. Not as “toning.” As neuroprotection.

Your body and brain are not separate systems. The brain is downstream of the vascular, metabolic, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal body.

Build muscle now.

Your future brain is listening.

GLP-1s can help support weight loss. But they don’ GLP-1s can help support weight loss.
But they don’t fully address the metabolic stress happening after meals.
And for many patients, that’s where the real problem begins.

Repeated post-meal glycemic and lipemic spikes are deeply tied to insulin resistance, visceral fat accumulation, cardiometabolic dysfunction, and progressive metabolic disease.

In this upcoming webinar, we’ll explore an emerging gut-local approach designed to help buffer metabolic stress directly at the meal itself — using patented mesoporous silica technology to slow carbohydrate and fat absorption in the GI tract.

Join Dr. Sanjay Bhojraj, Dr. Eric Johnston, and me as we unpack:
🧬 The science behind post-meal metabolic dysfunction
🧬 The mechanism of SiPore® enzyme entrapment
🧬 SHINE trial outcomes
🧬 Clinical integration strategies for metabolic care and GLP-1 transitions

If you work with patients navigating metabolic dysfunction, prediabetes, weight management, or cardiometabolic disease, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.
